What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I discovered Soul Art 10 years ago and have been using it as a process for personal growth, healing, and self discovery ever since. It’s the process I turn to when I have an inner question. Soul Art helps me return to myself and also to discover new parts of myself that I haven’t found yet. I’ve participated in Soul Art day since 2015 and wouldn’t miss it for the world! I look forward to Soul Art Day every year and love to dive into a Soul Art Journey.
How would you describe your creative process?
Soul Art has taught me to have a completely intuitive creative process. When I first started Soul Art, I just wanted a reason to make art. But I quickly learned that the pre-creative ritual part of a Soul Art journey is what makes it so powerful and creates the space for the intuition to lead the creative process. So I spend a lot of time in the preparation phase: setting my intention, prepping my space, anointing my canvas, making my Bodymap, energetically sketching out my feelings, and teasing my creativity awake, that by the time I get to the art-making part of the process, my intuition is alive and firing on all cylinders. I’m so primed for intuitive creativity by then that I have no problem approaching my canvas without having any preconceived idea of what I’ll do. I simply make a mark on my canvas and ask what’s next over and over until my art tells me it’s finished. No matter how it looks, I am in complete trust of what is coming out on the canvas and that it has deep and meaningful messages for me. I just keep going with curiosity until I feel it’s completion, and I love that it talks to me along the way!
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
So many insights! I had a tower year last year and things have felt pretty chaotic as my base and my life as I have known it have crumbled beneath my feet. There’s a whole lot of reconfiguration going on in my life!! But my art reminded me of the caterpillar when it goes into the chrysalis. It dissolves into goo soup until it’s completely broken down into nothingness. And then the imaginal cells light up. And slowly the cells that belong together find each other to create the parts of the new butterfly that will emerge. My art showed me that I’m in the chrysalis now, already broken down, the new parts being formed into a whole new way of being. It showed me how I have many opportunities in front of me, and that I can go in any direction that I choose. When I look at my art, I see life force energy and joy. I see myself reaching out, through the messiness of transformation, for life and love. I see myself being held by two loving arms through the whole thing. And if that’s not a sign that I’m safe to let go of the old me and allow myself to be transformed into the new version of myself, I don’t know what is!
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
I discovered the Soul Art process in 2015 and I’ve been using it ever since. I am a Soul Artist and a Certified Soul Art Guide. No matter what’s going on in my life, Soul Art has been a constant for me. It’s a process that I trust, that I can always turn to, that helps reveal the truth, the deeper layers of what I’m going through. It helps me release what’s decayed and ready to be turned into compost for my next blossoming. It helps me discover new parts of myself. It helps me get beyond my head and into my heart, my soul, my inner wisdom, so that I can communicate with the deepest parts of myself. Mostly, it helps me come back to myself when I get lost. I love and appreciate my Soul Art experiences to help me remember who I am and return to myself over and over again through the craziness that is being human.
