Robelis Rodríguez's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

The feeling of knowing that they are like minded people out there! The idea of doing something together regardless of countries, languages, races, or religions.

How would you describe your creative process?

I normally have something in mind. This time I didn’t know how the process was going to be. So I started the day before the Soul Art Day with the background. The Google-Maps image from of our trip to Italy this summer captured my attention and I new that I had to include our path somewhere in one of my paintings. So I started with the line (5.000 km)!, a map of Italy and some circles which represented cities. Then I listened to Laura Hollick and I let go of my ideas and let the colors and the brush take the lead. It was incredible to see how the painting changed. I thought of freedom, love and serenity and enjoyed every layer of paint. Then I added some texture because I love to touch my artworks and I felt that the surface wasn’t giving my that joy that I’m use to. All of a sudden a mermaid appeared. I wasn’t expecting that! and I kept working (or better said enjoying myself ) until the painting felt right.
