Cynthia L. Hines's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I received an email invitation from Cat Caracelo and after checking out the Soul Art website, thought It would be fun to join a gigantic group of visionary creatives!

How would you describe your creative process?

Even though I’m a writer, when I’m seeking guidance, I prefer to utilize art, generally through art journaling with watercolors. A guided meditation and/or inspiring music leads the way and soon, insightful stories emerge.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

Peeking through the mist of a long, dark night of the soul, I sought wisdom to head into an unplanned retirement after a heart surgery. I wanted to own it and make it a joyful decision. I drew my heart and traced my bruised hand, added an eye and a smile, then an exuberant mermaid leapt triumphantly from the ocean of my tears. Other meaningful symbols, portals, and channels showed up in brilliant color! I call the painting “Put Your Hand to It!”

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I trust my highest self to show up for me when I’m surrounded with the freedom of true expression and the powerful collaboration of a creative collective.
