Donna Triska's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

This is my third year of joining in Soul Art day. I joined the first time to get in touch with my inner being. It is such a powerful experience. I always walk away with a new outlook and a deeper understanding of where I am headed both as a person and as an artist.

How would you describe your creative process?

I like to set an intention by connecting to nature. A walk on the beach or among the trees at a local trail does wonders for clearing my mind of day to day things. For Soul Art day I wanted to let go of the outcome and just choose color and paint as I felt lead. I then searched for images in the paint. This time again I saw my muse in the shape and painting her/him in.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

This time it was that I need to pay a little more attention to my inner child and let her guide my paintings more often.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I often get so wrapped up in the nuts and bolts of running a business that I forget that my creative side is what my business is all about. As an adult with ADHD, it is especially important that I allow my inner child to run the show in the creative areas or I can’t stay focused on anything for long.
