Lorraine Dorothy Bezuidenhout's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

Born on Valentines day during the war years and being a lover of flowers, I was drawn to Flanders Fields and the poem by John McCrae. (In Flanders Fields the poppies blow, Between the crosses, row on row). Therefore the title:- In Flanders Fields- Size 480 x 290 mm; medium used Alcohol inks on Yupo paper.

How would you describe your creative process?

Firstly to meditate, a cleansing and receiving time. No need to take out art materials, they are always ready. Music is very important whether jazz or classical it helps to stage the process of creating. Revising what inspired me and then releasing my thoughts and energy into the piece.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

It has been so rewarding and such an inspiration to be joined with others since Soul Art Day. I now know I am not the only “want to be different” artist on earth.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Paint from within your soul, your heart and to let the viewer see what you see.
