Una's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I’ve been following Laura for years and have done two other Soul Art Days. I made a commitment to having a regular art practice a year and a half ago so I was curious to see what would come up this year. So I carved out the day and did it!

How would you describe your creative process?

I make sure that I have studio time each week to explore and create. I keep a cycle of several art forms going at any given time: tapestry, wearable art, botanical drawing, collage and mixed media and sketching. They all feed into each other and become part of the whole.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

I had been worrying about supporting myself going into the future, so I played with the idea of allowing some ideas to come through and they actually did! I am so excited to see myself as not only an inspiring artist but a kind of mentor to people wanting to bring more creativity into their lives and into the world!

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I followed the process as it was laid out for the day and it was different this year than years past. I was able to go deep into an intuitive space and play and get into a flow. I had very few distractions and I attribute this to my work at having a regular space and practice. It showed me that I can indeed get powerful insights and viable ideas by giving myself the time and space to let them well up and trust myself to allow them to manifest into a practical life.
