Vanessa van Wyk's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I felt that this is the right time to try, as I have recently been on a very transformative journey, gaining knowledge on all subjects that fascinate me and which I have always had a longing for more understanding in. I recently received a donated Kidney for transplant and my life is now larger than living one day at a time, so I therefore am determined to use this gift to its fullest and not let any more procrastination inhibit me in my Art and my connection with my Soul. I do not need to be convinced that we are all connected and are one in humanity.

How would you describe your creative process?

I use cuttings of images and photos in books, mags etc, to design an image. I focus on mostly using balance and harmony, adding colour and texture/shading to reinforce meaning or visual vibration (usually while listening to certain songs/music imbuing the whole experience of painting/sketching/computer designing with that vibe), so that my experience of making that piece was nourishing for me and that would stay with me even when that piece goes to the client or is given away.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

That we only reflect what is already out there and that there is nothing new under the sun, ego has no place in Art.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

That all humans can and are creative in their true nature and there are no limits to their creative potential.
