Emy Varughese's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I was forwarded an email regarding Soul Art Day and I had no clue what it was about until I opened it. I looked through the website and the Soul Art Journey brochure, Laura had compiled and I thought to myself, ” How come I did not come across this before ? I just had to try it. It moved me.

How would you describe your creative process?

The past year and these few months have been such a boost to my creativity. I have had some inspiring original ideas and I thank God for giving me an opportunity to use what he has given me. I have had times in the past where I stopped creating anything at all. But I have gotten back to being my old self. My husband is a huge encouragement for me as well.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

The concept of body mapping and just having my own body part in my painting brought a lot of intimacy in the art. It made me think about what I value the most and that was to add color in my life and everyone else’s life. Hence, the vivid array of color combinations for my head. Colors adds happiness and joy which I was able to attain as part of this collective Soul Art Journey with my husband and friends.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Everyone from artists to people who have never drawn a sketch should try it. It is an out-of-this world experience.
