George Herrick's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I have long been a fan of Laura’s work, and I consider my art to be soul art anyway.

How would you describe your creative process?

Inspiration varies. Sometimes it’s the result of an inner search, sometimes a visionary or meditative download, sometimes the result of ceremony, sometimes something I see or hear… Sometimes I’ll sketch it or write a poem as “notes.” Sometimes I go straight to canvas and just paint it. Often I incorporate found objects, symbols from mythology or indigenous cultures. Basically, I just show up and creativity happens. How do I describe that?

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

My ritual comprised two ceremonies: one during the day to enter into the light of my soul and one after dark to enter into its darkness. My primary insight was that, while entering the woods in the dark was somewhat scary, entering the darkness of my soul was not. Entering the woods during the day was not scary at all, while entering my soul’s light was. I realize on a deeper level that I am more afraid of my light than my darkness.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

The Soul Art process will take you very deep if you let it. The way Laura set it up invites complete authenticity, raw creativity, and connection to your own concept of Source. I had no time to watch the videos or participate in any of the live events due to work, yet simply following her sherpa-like guidance on setting up and creating my own Soul Art and rituals, I had profound insights… and a lot of fun.
