What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I wanted to join in this beautiful day of expression to explore new design mediums, to connect with like minded soul sisters and brothers in the communal energy of self discovery, healing, and jubilation and to take time for myself in hopes that it would let my heart be open to what my soul wants to say.
How would you describe your creative process?
I believe there was much for my mind and heart to say as the written word homework was where I think I spent most of my time. After I dove in with the new painting medium my analytical mind kicked in and I started to pain more of the quick story instead of remembering to immerse my souls words into the art. There were definitely some growing pains when it came to the painting as I wanted to incorporate collage as well and the physical tools were not working or allowing me to create the way in which I had hoped. Plainly and more simply, the glue wouldn’t stick to the card board etc.. After I felt good with a stopping place in the new painting medium I immediately dove into a creative medium I know very well, which is modern floral design. My hands flowed very free and swift and comfortable in creating this piece. So even though the awkward painting medium feels unfinished and raw still it is a work of progress and I was still thankful in getting to try new things and play , while creating the fresh floral design felt like coming home it felt right and whole. It was an interpreted piece of my soul spiral being held, protected, cradled and surrounded in a very safe and vibrant circle of forest, friends, love light and Magic. When I did the body mapping it was of myself in a resting face forward and down position. It came to be the tin my painting my arms created the trunks and limbs for my forest trees and my head became the soft moonlight.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
I believe the biggest insight my soul art could give in these two pieces is that no matter what, life is an ever changing work in progress and that everything, the hard and easy alike, is a gift to be respected, revered, and celebrated. Also that my soul needs and craves this more and more . It is screaming for this time for myself to heal and rejuvenate.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
Never be afraid! Never say no to yourself! Feel loved, inspired, and held when you are learning to hear your souls heart and know we are all in this together in love and light!
