Sarah Vanderburgh's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I participated last year and found it a very profound process of self-discovery. This year I intentionally chose to use words as my medium to get more in touch with my writing self and to connect more deeply with what’s next for me.

How would you describe your creative process?

My creative process is messy, full of procrastination and wild bouts of doing! I like to get quiet and clear first {my space I work in and my head} then I like to just go with the flow and not doubt myself during the process of creating.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

The greatest insight I received from my Soul Art is that I am not in charge of the results of my creations; I am a vessel that energy travels through. I need to be open to this knowing that, while things in my life are a part of my life (ideas, stresses, problems, joys), they are not me. As a vessel, or conduit, I need to stop trying to control the results and accept being – just being. Letting things flow creates more flow. There is always more – joy, ideas, pain – everything has a purpose and belongs and needs to be released to continue the spiral of growth.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Definitely pick a medium that you already know. Let it work as a tool to reveal truth to you. Don’t give yourself the excuse that you were learning something new and get distracted by technique instead of getting immersed in the process. Find a way to participate on Soul Art Day – if you have to be at work, make a sketch on your coffee break! Make space for it and you will feel the support of thousands flowing through and supporting your connection to Spirit on this special day.
