Rosa Latva's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I’ve been longing to discover new ways to do art and evolve my creative process to the next level. I’ve been following Laura’s work for some time and find it very inspiring, and it is awesome to share these things in a community. It just felt very natural to be a part of this journey!

How would you describe your creative process?

I knew right away I want to body map the skin on my face. I asked guidance on my path to clarity.

My art had different plans than I had for it – I was supposed to use aqua pencils on my work, but since they were missing at that moment I had to use the supplement I had – acrylics. Painting is a huge block for me, it has driven me many times to a point of despair and I have avoided that for a long time. It was like, “OK, I’ll give it a shot”. I painted on a painting that I started years ago – it was basically just pink color and some collage on the edge. I gathered the material from what I had around me. The whole painting process was quite fluid and happened in a few hours – at first I was unsatisfied, annoyed because I felt I “overworked” on it, but when I took pictures and let it settle I started to see it with new eyes.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

When things feel overwhelming and confusing, see the big picture – the shapes and figures that it resembles.

Dreams and ideas are taking their shape.

To be like the tree – be rooted and open up to reach the sky. When nourished dreams can blossom.

Dreams radiate into the Universe.

My skin is renewing itself constantly.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Sometimes it is good to go outside the comfort zone – behind that often lies whole new worlds. To see “mistakes” as opportunities and different perspectives. Let yourself be inspired of what is around you.
