Sheila's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I have participated for the last two years, and it always proves to be… enlightening. I have been stuck, blocked, in my art for about a month now. Laura’s event was perfectly timed. There really is powerful energy when so many come together to share an experience.

How would you describe your creative process?

I usually start with a general idea, or plan. For my Soul Art, I just started painting. I chose a brush that did not offer a lot of control, and let the colors speak to me.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

So many…. in bits and pieces. A lone fish appeared from the very beginning, Me? The ebb and flow of the water current. How it seems to move you back and forth and you feel as if you are not making any progress. But looking back, you realize you have traveled far down the shore. Immersion. Flow. Interconnection. Quietness. Serenity.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

It left me with a sense of peace. The process became very meditative. I relinquished my control over the final outcome. That may be what I needed most to learn at this stage. Worry is wasted energy.
