What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I’ve been following Laura for a while. I love going through her processes…I always learn something about myself.
How would you describe your creative process?
For this particular piece, I had a big canvas on hand that I wanted to re-purpose, and some cut out leather (well…pleather) pieces that I also wanted to use. I decided to just takes these, and my paints, and go with it to see where it would take me…so I didn’t really know anything beforehand or plan anything. I didn’t even trace a part of my body since I didn’t have anyone to help me with a big one. So I just went for it and soon enough a body part was revealed 🙂
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
Very quickly the shape of a torso made itself known. And I had chosen to start with some deep red, orange, and yellow. I’ve been doing some heavy healing around my lower chakras…so this all made a lot of sense! I’m not sure exactly what all the other insight might be yet…will have to sit with the painting some more.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
I have been so busy the past couple months with design work on the computer that I was really excited this day was coming up so I had a good excuse to tell myself to stop and get back to my fine artist self!
