Nikki's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

Oh my. What didn’t inspire me ins more the question. When I saw this opportunity to create art in International community, it was like Yes, I’m doing this. Kundalini yoga is my practice right now and it completely compliments soul art.

How would you describe your creative process?

Fluid, organic, yoga, music, gotta have my music. Allowing, trusting, often I will listen to one song on repeat for hours. And those hours seem like seconds. Art and the ocean are the only places I go and time changes. Time becomes an abstract, far away identity when I’m in the zone. Time doesn’t own me when I’m creating. Which is liberating in this world today.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

That I need to continue painting and making art. It is very clear that this is what I need to be doing because I love it, because it heals, and because I am ready to receive the abundance that will come from my creations.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

My piece is really an extension of the energy I felt with everyone today. Though I spent the day alne creating, I felt so connected to something much bigger than myself. That said, the most important thing I want to share is that young people need art and artists in their lives. If you haven’t yet, I invite us to reach out to our local arts organizations and see what’s going on. It’s been very rewarding for me to work with youth. Pulls me out of me and into a place where I am needed, which turns out, I needed as well. Thank you all for a beautiful experience today. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s work! (:
