Andrea M. Winn's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I was curious about what International Soul Art Day is like. I totally took advantage of this world-wide Soul Art energy today to do this powerful piece, that will truly empower me in living my soul’s mission.

How would you describe your creative process?

My creative process was fun, challenging, I got stuck and I flowed. At the beginning I was stuck, I journalled and that really helped! I engaged my fear and I realized that in executing the Ashe, there is a form – there are sacred actions you take before making your first mark on the paper. So I decided to execute an Ashe right on my Soul Art – that set the tone of respect, magic and sacredness. I used your suggested creativity door and every one of the 5 magazine cut outs was so important for this piece. I surrounded the canvas with the magazine cut outs and they highly inspired it – they were so woven into the 2-minute story. I read the story and started placing things in the art to represent the story. There was a sense of ease and support at this point in the process. I consciously trusted myself. At times I brought out the big paint brush, and I have less control over what the stroke will look like, and I just lean into the big brushiness of it and let it create. The same with mixing colours – never totally sure what is going to come out on the paper. This makes it much more fun!

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

Slow down. Know what you know. Put up a shield around you and dance in your joy. Your joy is good – it brings blessing. Decide to close the door on harmful, distracting influence. Be your own woman. Strut with bold pride. Get a pair of those shoes if you can. (One of the magazine cut outs was of an extraordinary pair of shoes.)

Allow my fearless inner lion to come out into the world. The kind of shield I need is available to manifest my fearless light. My heart knows how to master Ashe boundaries. I can trust the growing garden of experience beneath me.

Most important insight: Feel the living support to enjoy mastering Ashe boundaries.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Gratitude to Laura for organizing International Soul Art Day. What a HUGE gift! I am so grateful for this painting and the wisdom it is giving to solve such a big problem – how to have good boundaries in all intimate relations, whether personal or professional. THANK YOU, LAURA!
