Lia Van Pelt's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I have been on a creative journey for as long as I can remember. As a child I would collect flowers and made wreaths for my siblings and friends heads, I would collect shells on the beach and create small creatures out of them, I would grow butterflies out of caterpillars. Nature has always inspired me and I enjoy working with crafts, creating my own jewelry from found objects, like tree nuts, twigs and leafs. Colouring books were my first introduction to formal creativity. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is that I love creating new artistic projects for myself.

How would you describe your creative process?

At the moment I am using my husbands old discarded 78rpm records to create a scene of foliage, trees and different type of birds. It started out as an experimental project and so far I have painted on 11 records.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

Soul Art Studios has been my ongoing inspiration and I have been following the creative force behind this for a long time. Everyone needs a Muse to keep the creative juices going. Laura has been a wonderful inspirational motivator for me. Thanks Laura!

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Just keep going with whatever touches your creative spirit, be courageous and use your most inner Goddess of creativity. Try new ideas and new materials, just play and be free of self judgement!
