Sheila Marie Delgado's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

The opportunity for growth and understanding. To take part in spiritual exploration and foster connections with others who are searching for their truth.

How would you describe your creative process?

I started the soul art journey on a completely different path. Instead of one large piece, I did a half dozen smaller works. The progression is interesting to me. In the beginning I struggled to create something… valid. Then I put down my brushes, and picked up my palette knife and spread the paint with no plan. I thought I would end up throwing these away, but each one speaks to me of the journey.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

I am very much a detail person. I usually work in watercolor, and the lesson I most need to learn is to stop trying to control the medium. Let the paint do the work. My soul art (acrylic) represents simplicity, taking chances and creating art for art’s sake and not a predetermined manifest.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I feel calm and at ease. I would like to revisit the Journey worksheets in a few months, to remind myself, to reinforce the message. And perhaps to take the journey again for new insights. Each step of the process revealed something new.
