Amy Sullivan's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I am interested in the healing potential of art making and processing the art, so I made time to experience this technique.

How would you describe your creative process?

It was a great afternoon of exploring and experiencing. I liked the warm ups, but really started feeling the flow with the story. I started out feeling kind of “down in the dumps,” but as my art told me later, that was necessary to create the fertile ground for the creative source to move deeply through me and for me to really drop all expectations and dive in.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

I am closer than I realize to connecting with Universal energies and those energies are moving through me. At the end of my series (of three paintings) I could actually feel the energy field around me and how every act, thought, feeling and deed has a direct impact on that field. I came to the conclusion that each and every moment is precious and an opportunity to connect with the Divine Universal energies and I hope I continue to take full advantage of that fact.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Playing with the arts, in general, as a process is a wonderful way to connect with the big picture of one’s place in the Universe. I think it is extremely valuable especially for those who are disillusioned with the status quo of what success and happiness are… job, car, family, etc. Making art in this fashion without judgement makes it easy to acknowledge the oneness of all things and leads to an overall feeling of peace and serenity that is difficult to obtain in any other way.
