Chris Zydel's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I needed to take some time simply being with my own creative process. So much of my creativity is poured into my work either coming up with creative ways to run the business, including marketing, writing, designing workshops and creating fabulous creative healing experiences for my students and clients. Which is totally fabulous. And I love it! But I don’t often give myself enough space to just play and do art for no other reason than I feel like doing it!!

How would you describe your creative process?

My creative process is an ongoing conversation with my intuitive voice where I am continually learning to trust that deeper wisdom in myself even when I don’t know where it’s leading me or why it’s chosen to go down a particular path.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

That my art doesn’t always have to be visually pleasing to me in order for me to find the experience of making art deeply satisfying. I am always amazed, over and over again, how my judging mind can have all kinds of opinions about my art …. sometimes it likes what I’m doing, sometimes it’s very critical about what’s showing up… but my thoughts about my art are often not at all the same as what I’m feeling as I paint. And I’m learning that the feelings are much more authentic and usually much more connected to my heart and soul.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I am reminded once again how much happier and joyful I feel when I’m making art that is solely for me. And that I need to be doing more of it!!
