Angela Gilchrist bio photoWhat Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

This is my 6th. International Soul Art Day experience. I have also just completed Level 1/Bodymapping in the Soul Art Certification Program and am heading into Level 2/Energy Mapping. I’ve found all my Soul Art journeys incredibly healing and rewarding. For this particular Soul Art Day, I just wanted to have fun creating art, make time for the things that matter to me, and be part of the collective.

How would you describe your creative process?

This time I chose an oracle card to serve as my muse. I received the Earth Empress card from Alana Fairchild’s Love Your Inner Goddess deck.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

My life has been currently chaotic. The insight I received was that I need to take care of myself (e.g. relax more etc.) just as much as I do anyone else in my life.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I used to think that it wasn’t possible for me to maintain a high amount of energy during any of my creative endeavors, whether painting or writing. I normally start getting very tired after two hours of creating art and need to pack up but this time I was very intentional, monitored my self-talk (was much kinder to myself), got good sleep the night before, set up my sacred space in advance, made sure I had nourishing food for breakfast and lunch, had a big bottle of water on my desk, and adhered to the minimum two one hour scheduled breaks during the day. I ended up painting for ten hours with energy to spare to my amazement.
