Phyllis A. Taylor bio photoWhat Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I felt the need to open up my soul…..to not be so “rigid” in my art. I draw portraits but have not been passionate about doing them lately. I was going to attempt a different “style” like mixed media, collage, express myself by creating abstracts, something, anything to bring the passion and creativity back.

How would you describe your creative process?

I worked on this piece using stencils from “found” objects but wasn’t “feeling” anything until I cut a stencil in the shape of a head (my daughter’s head) and started to add another layer of color.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

This piece took me back to days when I was more free and not concerned about if what I created was good enough or would it sell….it didn’t matter then.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Every day should be a soul art day!
