Windwriter bio photoWhat Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I was just drawn into the experience of being among so many gifted artists from around the world. And, I just wanted to get my “hands” into a project–since I am a recently retired Chiropractor–and I write books–the hands were the solution.

How would you describe your creative process?

I’ve been working on watercolor paintings using Chakra colors. And, it just came to me to do 7 hands.
After they were penciled in, I just knew that they were each a Chakra color. I will eventually ‘pour’ random colors over them all b/c each area of energy influences the others. I also chose to trace my arms on some hand-made, thin, gray, East Indian watercolor paper. (It just felt Chakra-ish– I thot I’d name it–From The Mist– and would be more grays/whites/gold/ black. Then it surprised me and asked for color.)

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

How much insight and support I receive from my Higher Celestial being on a daily basis. I made the crown Chakra in gold-leaf paint and ran that arm from the top to the bottom–almost up to my arm pit–to signify that it is the ultimate influence over all of them–and the goal is to lift them up. Yay!

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I am usually very gregarious and I found myself very contemplative. My daughter said I was ‘over-thinking it.’
I didn’t feel that way, so I continued– and listened to Deepak Choprah’s 2 DVDs on the Chakra’s. As I outlined each of my arms, I could feel a difference at each Chakra level. It was like meeting my ‘new’ college roommates. I am new to seriously meditating and chanting this last year. And, I kept feeling–Oh, here you are! I remember you. I found my arms looking far more delicate than I imagined they’d be–but I also felt their individual strengths..and was moved by acknowledging the skills my hands have given me over 72 years. . . It’s the next 20 years that I’m excited about.
