MaryJoe bio photoWhat Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I wanted to participate to challenge myself to try making a piece of art and also to exercise my courage and share it.

How would you describe your creative process?

It took me awhile to get started (5 days) but once I did start I became engulfed in the process and had insight and after insight along with a flood of other ideas for new pieces.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

I am my own healer. As I was marking on the paper over each area of my body, I felt each area of my body and I listened to it. My hands naturally moved in soothing, flowing strokes in some parts and more direct longer markings in other areas. In one area of my body the flow stopped. I paused and had to reconnect and really listen to my body. I picked up the flow again and I did a lot of repetetive motions and worked through the area. I have used visualization and touch for body work but this is the first time I’ve used art for this purpose. I am so happily amazed that I have this new method!

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

Making a piece of art about my body has reminded to go within. Once I am connected with myself, all is available to me.
