Jennifer Una bio photoWhat Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I’ve been following Laura’s work for some time and recently have been getting back to dong art and using it to enliven, enchant and inspire my life work and business. When the Soul Art Day came up again signing up was a slam dunk!

How would you describe your creative process?

I come from a fiber art background with an emphasis on weaving which can be very linear. I’ve always played with collage and found materials and recycled stuff. In the past few years I’ve been bringing it all together with the addition of paint and other 2-D media. Very intuitive, feeling my way and letting my “soul” do the directing.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

In this piece I wanted to give my body some say in the image and delve into what imagery and energy is held therein. What I got is that I don’t want to be confined to a limited piece of paper! I want to move out into more dimensions, movement, sound, the other senses, costume, adornment, etc. Theatre magick!

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I stayed in touch with the group – at Laura’s studio and the artists online throughout the day and as the day went on I felt a very powerful connection between us all. Even though we were meeting “virtually” there was something very tangible about it. I sensed that we were all working together and feeding into each other’s process. I’ve never felt this before being around other artists. It’s a Nü Earth! Can’t wait to connect again.
