What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I always look forward to doing a Soul Art journey and have been consistently participating and celebrating International Soul Art Day for the past several years. I knew there was a particular art piece wanting to be birthed into the world. This is also a special day I set aside for exquisite self-care and especially deserve ever since I became a caregiver to both my parents. Congratulations Soul Art Studio on your 13th. anniversary! What a wonderful achievement and may it be many more!
How would you describe your creative process?
This year I was most focused on self-care (nourishing food, hydration, quality sleep, relaxing ambient sounds), conserving energy, the usual getting my creative space and supplies ready both the day before and the morning of. Although I was able to visualize my artwork days in advance, I remained open to the unexpected as I perused through the pages of old catalogs looking for inspirational gems to add to my painted canvas.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
“The Gift of The Pearl”
As I’m looking at the work I created during International Soul Art Day, these are some of my insights:
I’m a wildflower grateful to be surrounded by a loving supportive community such as what we have here in the Soul Art group. I am meant to be the best version of myself and the best role model I can be (see my art’s side panels/Jesma Harry’s quote). I also believe this quote was meant to inspire others to step into their greatness.
Some Descriptors: Private, ritual, water, pool, clarity, cleansing, misty, frothy, glow, spritz, cavern, safe, secure, powerful, gentle, adventure, mysterious, mystical, witnessing, spying, pastels, ethereal, celestial, birds, avian, stars.
What you don’t know just by looking at my work: It was inspired by a recent guided meditation. I jumped into this mysterious pool (as seen in my art) and ended up transported inside a lovely two story beachfront cottage. In the ocean there, I retrieved a gift of a pearl.
*Pearls symbolize purity, balance, inner wisdom, often associated with divine feminine energy, and nature’s wisdom.
My Intention: I am confident that I’m on the right path regarding my life purpose, vocation, and any big decisions I’m making.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
Creating Soul Art brings me so much joy! It’s incredibly fun, nourishing, and healing. Soul Art helps me to reconnect to my inner child and to build resilience during times of challenge. Soul Art has become a long-term passion. I can genuinely say that I’ve evolved exponentially because of it more so than other things I’ve done. I’ll “dialogue” with my art at any point after it’s been completed and always learn something new about myself. This process leads me to an inspired action. I truly believe that anyone who creates Soul Art will greatly benefit from it as well.
