What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
This was the third Soul Art Day I was aware of and that knowledge has been seeping into the recesses of my very repressed creative self. This time I felt excitement and movement in my body and watching my grandson express his creativity so freely allowed me to give it a try.
How would you describe your creative process?
With this project, my process felt scattered, fearful and even embarrassing, but forceful and not to be denied.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
While working the dough into the body map I found myself whistling an old tune where the only lyrics that ran in my head were, “Please try to love me, to love me as I’ve loved you.” At first I thought I was working for the approval of the Soul Art group, and then I realized it was my body, legs especially, wanting me to love them as they have loved me. Amazing how they have felt since acknowledging them.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
I realized it is okay to not know how. It is imperative to not shut down. My experience has been subtle and profound and fun.
