What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
This year I really needed to get in touch with my creativity again for so many reasons. I’m on my own journey, started a couple of months ago, this piece that I started on Soul Art Day is actually the third one in my ongoing journey and they are all connected, leading me forward.
How would you describe your creative process?
I would say that I follow the Soul Art steps, perhaps with my own twist. There is this thought or feeling that I need to explore and work with, something that is going on inside. I always set an intention but sometimes it isn’t really clear to me until I start working with my painting. This time it came to me as I started working and I was going through books and pictures. I then carry the process with me until I’m completely done. This one took me a couple of weeks and it has been a really bittersweet experience.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
I think I made myself a compass for a reason but it also became very clear to me that I need better balance in my life, (not just work and being to much in my head) I’m not quite sure how yet but I hope I’ll get more guidance and clarity in the near future. In the middle of the painting it says ~A place for your Soul~ (in Swedish) and that’s what I am looking for, a place to land in and do my work from. A lot of the symbols in my painting like animals and plants for example, had to do a lot with trusting myself and my gifts and don’t let fear take over, so I think I need to build som more confidence and take a leap of faith.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
For me it is to let the process take its course. Let it take the time needed, you can’t force it. Maybe it doesn’t go the way you planned or thought it would, then just follow, it will guide you where you need to go. And stay with it/take it with you, through the whole journey you’re on, it can take hours, days, weeks or months, Let it!
