What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I’ve done a Soul Art journey every single year since the very first Soul Art Day! I wouldn’t miss it!!
How would you describe your creative process?
This year I could not do my journey on Soul Art Day itself due to other commitments so I made time on the weekend and my creative process was filled with ease and presence.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
Creating a shift to thriving in every aspect of my life is in my hands.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
Well, I found it both exciting and fascinating that it was revealed during the process that my spiritual awakening actually initiated with making pottery (art) and for years I had been telling myself and others that my initiation happened through yoga in 2001. The truth is that my awakening was actually germinated in 1996 when I signed up for my first pottery class and had the experience there for the very first time of losing my mind to find my heart. It was in pottery that the mental body quieted. It was in pottery that I discovered the magic of expanding time. It was in pottery that I had a visceral experience of the power of the circle and the spiral to create in the tangible world. It was in pottery that I found joy in getting my hands dirty instead of being obsessed with keeping them clean. It was in pottery where I was able to detach from the outcome for the very first time because the practice of pottery has many many junctures along the way where what you have created can be easily and accidentally destroyed. I discovered in pottery that you can always start again as long as the final piece hasn’t been fired. I also discovered in pottery how important making things with my hands is to my overall well-being. This years Soul Art experience was very illuminating!
